Frequently asked questions

What guests ask us most, before they book and once they are here.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 10:00. A check-in after 20:00 carries a late check-in charge of €20.

Can I have an early check-in?

Yes, we will be able to check you in as soon as you arrive.

We cannot guarantee that the apartment will be fully cleaned by that time; however, we can still let you store your luggage and have the privacy for a change of clothes if needed, hand over the keys, and give you an estimated time for the full tour and access.

Can I have a late check-out?

Standard check-out is by 10:00, but a later check-out can often be arranged. It depends on availability and our cleaning schedule, so we cannot promise it when you book. Once you have a booking, you give your departure time in Manage My Booking and choose the time you would like, and we confirm whether it is possible.

Can I park a car at the property?

It depends on the complex:

Clube do Monaco
There is some street parking available, but spaces are very limited. In the off-season period, October to May, it's usually possible to find spaces throughout the day, but in the summer the situation is more complicated. A very useful plan B is about 200 meters away from the complex, a municipal parking lot which offers weekly options for around €45.00 total. You can see more about it, here: maps.app.goo.gl
Parque da Corcovada
Parking on the street nearby.
Quinta da Barracuda
There is lots of secure front courtyard and underground parking. The spaces in the courtyard are not designated. But the underground spaces are designated - you will be told which is yours at check-in.

Is the swimming pool heated?

We're sorry to say that the swimming pool is not heated.

How do I book, and when do I pay?

You book here on our website: choose your dates, name the guests in your party and pay online through Revolut's secure checkout, by card or bank transfer, in euros or pounds. 25% of the price is paid when you book and the remaining 75% is due 8 weeks before you arrive. A booking made 8 weeks or less before arrival is paid in full when you book.

Can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel within 24 hours of paying and be refunded in full. After that, what you have paid is non-refundable, so we recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation. To cancel, use the Cancel Booking tab in Manage My Booking.

Is there a tourist tax?

Yes. The municipal tourist tax in Albufeira is €2 per guest per night, for guests aged 13 and over, on up to 7 nights of a stay, for arrivals from April to October. It is not included in the price of your booking: you pay it online in Manage My Booking once your guest list is complete, unless the platform you booked through has already collected it.

How do I get to Albufeira from the airport?

Faro airport is the simplest option (45km/28mi away) - all major European airports connect to it, and it's also reachable via Air Transat from Toronto if travelling from Canada. Lisbon airport (254km/158mi away) is a good alternative if your route doesn't serve Faro.

Can you arrange a private transfer from the airport?

Yes. Once you have a booking, you can request a private transfer from Faro Airport in Manage My Booking: you enter your flight details and see the exact price for your party before confirming. We can only offer private transfers within the Algarve, not from Lisbon or Seville.

Between Faro Airport and your apartment, each way: €42 for up to 4 guests, €57 for 5 to 8. A larger party travels in more than one vehicle.

Between 22:00 and 07:30 there is a supplement of €10 for each vehicle.

How do I get to Albufeira from Porto, Lisbon or Seville?

The simplest option is a short domestic flight to Faro with TAP Air Portugal (flytap.com). If you'd rather stay on the ground, Rede Expressos (rede-expressos.pt) and Flixbus (global.flixbus.com) both run frequent, affordable coaches (roughly €5-€25) direct to Albufeira, and CP Portugal's national rail service (cp.pt) also runs from Lisbon and Porto to the Albufeira (Ferreiras) station. We wouldn't recommend a private Uber/taxi transfer for this longer journey - it can run into the hundreds of Euros for what public transport covers comfortably.

How do I get around within Albufeira itself?

Uber is the easiest way to get between the bus station, train station, the Flixbus stop and our properties (all 5-10 minutes away). Albucoop, the local taxi service, can be called directly on +351 289 583 230. There's also a local bus service, "Giro" (vamusalgarve.pt), and several local car and bicycle rental options - see our Local Guide page for our current recommendations.
