Faro Airport to Albufeira

Faro Airport is about 45 km from Albufeira, 35 to 40 minutes by car along the A22 motorway. Most of our guests fly into Faro, and these are the ways to make the last part of the journey, from the simplest to the cheapest. Taxi, ride-hailing and bus prices are the ones we found in October 2026; they change often, so check them before you travel.

A private transfer we arrange

When you book one of our apartments, you can add a private transfer from Faro Airport, or add it later in Manage My Booking up to 2 days before you arrive. You enter your flight details and see the price for your party before you confirm. Your driver meets your flight and takes you to the door of your apartment, and the trip back to the airport is booked the same way.

Between Faro Airport and your apartment, each way: €42 for up to 4 guests, €57 for 5 to 8. A larger party travels in more than one vehicle.

Between 22:00 and 07:30 there is a supplement of €10 for each vehicle.

It is the price of a daytime taxi or less, it is fixed when you book, and nobody has to find the way after a flight. We arrange transfers within the Algarve only, not from Lisbon or Seville.

Taxi

Taxis wait outside the arrivals hall and run on the meter. To Albufeira, expect roughly €55 to €70 during the day. Fares are higher at night, at weekends and on public holidays, and for a larger car, and the motorway toll is added at the end.

Uber or Bolt

Both apps work at Faro Airport. A standard car to Albufeira costs roughly €30 to €40, and a larger one for five or six people around €45 to €50. At busy times, late afternoons in summer above all, prices can double and a car can take a while to come.

Aerobus

Vamus Algarve's Aerobus, line 56, leaves from outside the arrivals hall and calls at Albufeira's bus station on its way west to Lagoa, Portimão and Lagos. It costs about €11 a person and takes about an hour. It runs several times a day from May to October but only two or three times a day in winter, and it can fill up, so check the timetable on Vamus Algarve's website before you rely on it.

Albufeira's bus station is on the edge of town, about 1.5 km from the Old Town. A taxi or Uber from there to any of our apartments takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Hire car

The drive is 35 to 40 minutes on the A22 motorway. The A22 has electronic tolls only, with no booths to pay at, so ask your hire company for a toll device when you collect the car. The N125 is free, but it is slower and busier.

Where to park at each of our complexes is in our FAQ.

What about the train?

We would not take it from the airport. Faro's railway station is in the city, not at the airport, and Albufeira's station is at Ferreiras, about 7 km from town, so the train means a taxi at each end.

Flying into Lisbon or Seville

Lisbon Airport is about 250 km from Albufeira. A short TAP flight to Faro is the quickest way on. On the ground, Rede Expressos and FlixBus coaches run to Albufeira, and CP trains from Lisbon stop at Albufeira-Ferreiras. A taxi over that distance runs into hundreds of euros.
